4 GOOD REASONS TO USE VEGETABLE OIL AS AN INTIMATE LUBRICANT

1. Vegetable oil is an incredibly erotic massage oil! Natural coconut oils or sweet almond oils are excellent massage oils and lubricants. These organic oils for erotic massages, depending on their origins, offer a sensual and long-lasting glide ideal for relaxation. Want to become an expert in sensual massage? Make the right choice of a natural and organic 2-in-1 lubricant and discover all our tips here in this article: How to perform a sensual massage as a couple?

2. Vegetable oil is first and foremost a very long-lasting lubricating oil and friendly on the mucous membranes. Using vegetable oil as a vaginal lubricant has a huge advantage: it doesn't evaporate, unlike water-based lubricants that tend to dry out quickly. It is therefore useless to add several times during sex. Although toxicity studies on intimate mucous membranes are still yet to be done, there is every reason to believe that vegetable oils do not pose any danger to your privacy. This is the solution in your search for intimate lubricant that can offer a better duration over time.

3. Vegetable oil is an ecological, natural, and organic vaginal lubricant; rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, grapeseed oil and linseed oil, for example, are 100% natural biodegradable substances that are very often from organic sources. This is the solution in your search for an organic lubricant.

4. Vegetable oil is a superbly water-resistant lubricant. Sound familiar? It's hard to get rid of it... and in full pleasure of the senses, a magnificent opportunity to prolong the hot romantic sex. It’s perfect for shower sex, and what better way to spice up your sexual relationships? This is the solution in your search for lubricant to make love pleasantly, under a restorative and beneficial shower.

THE 3 GOLDEN RULES TO KNOW BEFORE USING LUBRICATING INTIMATE OILS

THE 3 GOLDEN RULES TO KNOW BEFORE USING LUBRICATING INTIMATE OILS

Vegetable oils are not perfect and require some precautions in their use. Here are the 3 golden rules to know before using an oil during sexual intercourse.

1. VEGETABLE OILS & CONDOMS = A HEALTH HAZARD AND STI RISK
In case you don’t know: natural vegetable oil-based lubricants are incompatible with the use of latex and polyisoprene condoms because they make them porous. This is an extremely important point to remember if you are using condoms as a contraceptive or as a means of protection against STIs. When in contact with oil, after a massage for example, the condom becomes more and more fragile, which leads to the risk of it tearing. It is also essential to remember that some oils seem to be compatible with polyurethane condoms if they are applied 3 or 4 hours before sexual intercourse to prevent intimate dryness, but we prefer to minimize the risk by avoiding them at all costs. If you are still looking for a lubricant that is compatible with a condom, take a look at our water-based intimate lubricants and our organic Aloe Vera lubricant, and find out in our blog post about the compatibility of our gels with condoms.

2. OILS AND TEXTILES = RISK OF IRREVERSIBLE STAINS
Did you know that it is important to protect the sheets if you use a natural lubricating oil? Some vegetable oils used as lubricants can stain textiles. Be careful, the toughest of these stains have an unfortunate tendency to resist cleaning. For the most meticulous or messy maniacs, it might be wiser to choose a water-based lubricating intimate gel.

3. OILS AND TOYS = A LOT OF DISCOMFORT FOR LITTLE BENEFIT
With sex toys, the atmosphere is not really crazy. Did you know that the compatibility of your lubricant gel with your sex toy is absolutely something to consider? If your sex toy is made with latex, damage is guaranteed with natural oils, as intimate oils hate this material. In all honesty, having personally done the test and after having gathered a lot of information on the problem, no need to lie to yourself, the results are not very nice, even with a sex toy made with medical-grade silicone. As far as gliding goes, it's pretty mediocre, and it's a real pain to clean. This is just my personal opinion; I'll leave it to you to judge for yourselves.

WHICH NATURAL OILS SHOUD YOU USE FOR SEX?

WHICH NATURAL OILS SHOUD YOU USE FOR SEX?

Oils for private parts, ok – but not just any oil, and especially not chilli oil. Before talking about extraction methods and the different intimate oils, you should know that this article only refers to vegetable and natural oils, not to be confused with mineral oils, such as Paraffinum Liquidum or Petrolatum. So, which oil should you use as a lubricating intimate gel?  To answer this question, we must first look at the different processes for extracting vegetable oils:

· Cold extraction by pressure is carried out in an approach to preserve the properties of the oil and its benefits. The seed or part of the plant is cold pressed in order to recover a high-quality virgin oil.
· The production of vegetable oil can also be obtained by industrial mechanical hot extraction. In this process, and for a much better yield, the seeds are subjected to a light hot process before mechanical pressure. This method is more efficient than cold extraction, but the quality of the oils is reduced.
· The last process that should not be ignored is the solvent extraction method, which consists of extracting the oil and/or the various active ingredients from the seeds by marinating them in a solvent.
Cold extraction absolutely guarantees the preservation of the oils properties. It is important to know how to differentiate between the different extraction methods, some of which use chemical solvents that pose health risks and are negative for the preservation of the environment. A pure, raw, and 100% natural oil will always be more effective, healthy, and respectful of the planet.

At the end of pure extraction, these vegetable oils may need to be modified and transformed:
· They may undergo discoloration and/or deodorization to avoid colouring and/or having an olfactory impact in the cosmetic product. These are called refined vegetable oils.
· They can be mixed with alcohol to be cheaper and more durable, catalogued as esterified oils recognizable by their names: Caprylic Capric Triglyceride, Coco Caprylate Caprate, Dicaprylyl Ether....
· They can be transformed by a catalytic hydrogenation operation, recognizable as hydrogenated oils: hydrogenated coconut oil renamed HYDROGENATED COCONUT OIL under the name INCI and authorized in organic cosmetics. A hydrogenated, refined, or esterified oil is in no way a substitute for the corresponding vegetable oil. Don't worry about your health, but you should know that the vast majority of benefits are lost during these transformation phases. It is therefore preferable to use virgin oils, i.e. raw oils, to preserve all the benefits and avoid allergic reactions. Now that you know everything, we can move on to the next step.

THE OILS WE SUGGEST YOU

Which is best, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or olive oil? All you have to do is choose according to your preferences. Here are some examples of vegetable oils that are safe if used sparingly as intimate lubricants. Again, these are just examples, you can very well try the experiment with avocado oil, hemp oil, flaxseed oil, and argan oil!

· JOOJOBA OIL
If you have the mojo and want to avoid the aches and pains, check out jojoba oil. It is appreciated for its penetrating touch that does not leave a greasy film. It is a very good protector of your skin and actively participates in the fight against inflammation and skin aggressions. Having a composition substantially similar to that of our skin's sebum, jojoba oil is one of the oils with the lowest risk of allergic reactions. It can be used as a lubricant and is also recommended to soften painful sexual intercourse or as an intimate massage oil for people with vulvar pathologies. At YESforLOV, we have sparingly incorporated it into our relaxing anal lubricant. What other benefits for my privacy? Find here, more info on the star ingredients used by YESforLOV. Not comedogenic (0/5).

· SWEET ALMOND OIL
Sweet almond oil is the little starlet of oils; the one we find in our sensual massage oils with the titillating and bewitching scents. Its dry non-greasy texture offers an incredible feeling of softness and relaxation. Rich in vitamin E, it is also known to fight against vaginal dryness and relieve symptoms thanks to its moisturizing, soothing, and healing properties. It is often recommended by health professionals to patients suffering from vaginismus, vulvodynia, vestibulodynia, or clitoridynia. Almond oil is great for lubricating the mucous membranes and making it easier to glide during penetration and massage. Low comedogenic (1/5).

· OLIVE OIL
Olive oil offers an exceptional taste, especially if it is of French origin! It offers a thunderous glide while regulating the natural moisturizing process. It is suitable for the most sensitive mucous membranes; it quickly absorbs into the skin but leaves a greasy film. It’s soothing, healing, and anti-inflammatory, and is also said to have a stimulating effect on libido, but this remains to be verified. Its advantage may be its very affordable price or its availability. Did you know that the 2019 trophy for the best blended olive oil was won by La Magnanerie, an estate located in the Ardèche and its organic, atypical, and exceptional olive oil that lives up to its name: the wild cuvée. We've tried it, it's just exceptional. Low comedogenic (1/5).

· COCONUT OIL
Cuddly coco... how divine! Virgin coconut oil is blessed and taken with us everywhere. Its benefits for your intimacy are immense; it is just flowing with softening properties for the skin. It has the particularity of being antifungal, which makes it suited to fight against vaginal yeast infections. Effective, we tell you more in this article. According to the tests, it would prevent further irritation of the vulva. Coconut oil is one of the most common vegetable oils and is used as a lubricant during sexual intercourse. It offers a greasy and creamy touch, offers a very long-lasting glide, and delivers a very heavenly fragrance. Comedogenicity index (3/5).

· ALOE VERA
And where does aloe vera stand in all this? Can Aloe Vera be used as a lubricant? Well, yes! With its high lubricating power, aloe Vera is ideal for the temporary relief of vaginal dryness. Its fluid and watery texture brings softness and a lot of well-being in your lovemaking. Aloe Vera pulp is particularly rich in vitamins and minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and plant substances, and has a super moisturizing power. Women with dyspareunia or prone to pain caused by a chronic lack of lubrication or recurrent vaginal dryness are the first to be affected. The YESforLOV Aloe Vera lubricant contains more than 60% of it and offers the advantage of being compatible with condoms, which vegetable oils are not.
