Is the intimate lubricant edible?

In Europe, the regulation specifies that a "substance or mixture intended to be ingested [...]" is not considered a cosmetic product but a food product. Nutritional mentions such as energy values are then mandatory.
However, the European Commission classifies some cosmetic products (lipstick, stick, lip gloss, toothpaste, oil) as "borderline" and requires manufacturers (precautionary principle) to indicate "do not ingest" on the packaging. For example, women ingest an average of 24 milligrams of lipstick per day, which translates into approximately 350 grams of lipstick swallowed in a lifetime.

This claim does not make the product less edible. It classifies the product's primary function (cleaning, fragrance, appearance modification, protection, or odor correction) and states that excessive consumption is not recommended.
