THE BALANCE OF INTIMATE FLORA AND SEXUAL WELL-BEING

THE BALANCE OF INTIMATE FLORA AND SEXUAL WELL-BEING

Are your intimate mucous membranes itchy, irritated, or stinging? Do you suffer from yeast infections that cause unbearable burning in your vulva and vagina?

Don't recklessly apply anything and everything to cure your pain. It is essential and important for the comfort and health of your mucous membranes that you can take the time to understand the mechanism of your own intimacy and provide it with what it needs.

Your intimate flora is mainly composed of lactobacilli and bacteria like fungi that line the vaginal and vulvar walls. These microorganisms can be "good" or "bad" for the body. If some of these bacteria proliferate significantly, they can cause infections and urogenital disorders. And it is very often an imbalance in the microbiota that is at the origin of these dysfunctions. And yes, the balanced vaginal flora prevents the adhesion and colonization of pathogenic germs in the vagina and the proliferation of species that are naturally present. An imbalance in this flora increases the pH of the vagina and prevents the protective effect of the usual acidic pH. Depending on your hormonal fluctuations, lifestyle, diet, medication intake, and physical condition, your microbiota will constantly seek to regularize itself to ensure the good health of your mucous membranes and avoid yeast infections, vaginosis, or cystitis.

If all this works well most of the time, your flora still has 1001 opportunities to disrupt your daily life and turn your sexuality upside down: tobacco or alcohol, the Alkaline Power of Sperm, poor intimate hygiene with irritating products (too much or not enough), controversial period products, a sexually transmitted infection, a sex toy that has been improperly cleaned or exchanged, certain birth control pills, irritating underwear or washed with allergens, sex without lubricant that lasted a little too long, an allergic reaction to components: saliva, preservatives, and perfume, a lubricant with a pH or osmolarity that is too high or ingredients that are not very clean, repeated chaffing or bikini waxing.

An unbalanced flora has to deal with fungi, such as Candida albicans, and this is where the trouble starts, with burning sensations, scratching, and pain during penetration. Intimate and sexual discomforts are enemies that should not be overlooked.

Because your intimate health is a source of your well-being, and because your vaginal comfort, sexual pleasure, psychological balance, know that YESforLOV will always listen to you to find a solution to your problems together.

Plant-based INTIMATE OILS, A NATURAL REMEDY FOR IRRITATIONS AND DISCOMFORTS IN THE INTIMACY OF A COUPLE

Lubricating plant-based oils, chosen for their transparency and intrinsic characteristics, are safe allies for your mucous membranes. If you don't know which oil to use, read our blog post again and try our new organic lubricating intimate oil. In the same vein, we also invite you to discover our range of water-based lubricants enriched with hyaluronic acid: these are surprisingly effective at moisturising your intimacy in case of intimate dryness and healing your mucous membranes

A timely return to female sexuality seems to us to be topical. Your vulva is located externally and at the intersection of three orifices: the urethra, the entrance to the vagina, and the anus. The risks of infections and irritations, even if they turn out to be mild, seem very high: itching, burning sensations, redness, swelling of the mucous membranes, etc.

Vulva irritation can be a sign of a sexually transmitted infections, but it is more commonly due to vaginal dryness, lesions, or a skin reaction to certain lubricants or intimate oils. There are many causes for these intimate discomforts that will one day have to be identified, but you will easily understand that it is impossible to list them all in a single article. What must be remembered is that vulvar discomfort is very frequent and is often temporary. So, don't be alarmed at the first feeling of discomfort. If this irritation does not cause abundant white discharge, it is not related to bacteria and is therefore not a symptom of fungal infection. Conversely, if the problem persists, it may be vulvar pruritus, a dermatological condition, vulvar lichen, or a sexually transmitted disease. In any case, stay true to your strict principles that you impose on yourself for your health: constantly listen to your body and if you have the slightest doubt, consult your gynaecologist who will take a myco-bacteriological sample after a physical check-up to identify the real cause of the itching, and possibly propose an appropriate treatment.

In order to prevent irritations, which are always on the lookout to disturb your desires and well-being, protecting your mucous membranes against external aggressors must be a priority. Plant-based oils seem to be the solution at hand to lubricate your intimacy and soothe your mucous membranes, which are so sensitive and too often weakened.

  • Place a few drops of our organic intimate oil in the palm of your hand.
  • Apply gently and synergistically to your vulva. preferably when you get out of the shower.
  • Gently massage to soothe irritation, promote hydration, and speed up healing.
  • Reapply two to three times a day for 48 hours.
  • Consult a doctor if the problem persists.
ANTI-ANTIFOLOGY OILS AGAINST CANDIDA, WHICH CAUSES FUNGAL INFECTIONS

ANTI-ANTIFOLOGY OILS AGAINST CANDIDA, WHICH CAUSES FUNGAL INFECTIONS

The risk of vaginal infection seems to be the main cause of intimate discomfort and this is often due to an unbalanced vaginal flora. The question of oils, and in particular, coconut oil as an intimate lubricant or miracle cure for fungal infections, is still debated for several reasons, including the effectiveness of its antifungal properties and its impact on the vaginal microbiota’s pH. Supposed African discoveries would demonstrate the antifungal efficacy of coconut oil on Candida albicans. The latter would therefore be an ideal and natural solution to prevent vaginal yeast infections. Although there are no official studies regarding its specific use on the vaginal and vulvar mucosa, it seems likely that some oils, including coconut oil, do indeed have antifungal properties with the ability to destroy Candida albicans, which is responsible for most vaginal yeast infections. At first glance, this theory is well founded, but in practice, it is not so simple. According to the testimonies of many doctors, the apparent antifungal properties of coconut oil are not strong enough to prevent vaginal yeast infections: more research is therefore needed to determine if this oil is safe and effective in this context. At best, coconut oil would seem to have no effect in treating yeast infections, which further prolongs your suffering. On the other hand, this same coconut oil will help you relieve your vaginal dryness and irritation. To conclude, there is every reason to believe that these purported antifungal properties are not strong enough to prevent vaginal yeast infections. The question therefore remains unresolved. The bad news is that everything is eradicated with antifungal oils, the good bacteria - as well as the bad ones - are destroyed, like the antibiotics we have become accustomed to taking when we are sick.

If you suffer from a gynaecological disease, it is essential to take a vaginal swab to identify beforehand what type of germ threatens you and then go for a specific appropriate treatment. Virgin vegetable oils used in so-called occasional use are safe. But it's important to mention that vegetable oils (and coconut oil is one of them) come with an alkaline pH (7-8). The pH of a vegetable oil is therefore neutral while the vaginal pH is acidic and varies from 3.8 to 4.5. Is there a risk of causing an imbalance? By disrupting the functioning of the microbiota, the risk of future infection increases. There are a lot of products on the market that are not always good for your health. No studies have shown any risk to the health of your mucous membranes from the use of vegetable oils, so it's up to you alone to make the right choices. Find out more about pH and the effects of intimate lubricants in our blog post: Which natural lubricant to use to preserve the acidity of the vagina and maintain the balance of the vaginal microbiota?

Plant-based oils are safe, and it would be a shame to do without them, especially considering all the comfort they bring. Be careful, however, not to use the oils in a repetitive pattern, to wear them with latex condoms, or to put too much on your precious mucous membranes.  In high doses or in certain situations, oils inside or outside the vagina can take on the role of the enemy. We highly recommend regular vaginal swabs to be sure your mucous membranes are in good health. To ensure that you are in good health, it is best to screen your vaginal microbiota at regular intervals to know which is the best product to use to deal with your discomfort.  Your vaginal microbiota is your pillar of intimate health to balance your daily life and make it as comfortable as possible. It is the discreet and secret protector of a treasure that you must preserve at all costs.
