Maternity uncomplicated is truly a magical period. The baby slowly builds its nest while the body of the future mother gradually builds its future life. You are radiant, happy, fulfilled, but make no mistake about it, motherhood is far from being a long calm river and for some of you, it is sometimes a not very fun yo-yo made of ups and downs, heartaches, strong feelings and a lot of physical, emotional, hormonal upheavals that you will have to accept at all costs and manage as well as possible.

During pregnancy and the breastfeeding period, your beauty routine as a future mother and your rituals in your lovemaking (still relevant, it's vital!) wouldn't they be destined to be reviewed in depth and sincerity of the senses for ultimately much better well-being?

Throughout this warm and luminous motherhood, your body inevitably changes and your personal needs for your intimate hygiene change accordingly: it's time to take care of the grain because certain substances used in the composition of certain cosmetic products and lubricants easily available in supermarkets are little or not adapted to your skin which is always a precious treasure to preserve. In short ! The so-called rather mediocre range products often do not meet your expectations and can sometimes endanger the health of the future baby! Expecting a newborn is therefore the perfect opportunity to sort out your cosmetics. You now need to redouble your attention and make the wise choice to choose clean, positive, effective and studied intimate care for future mothers and nursing mothers. As for tobacco and alcohol, it's clear: we reduce consumption to the bare minimum if we don't say stop altogether. No need to rehashing and rehashing. What about cosmetics for pregnant women?  Which brand of cosmetics should you choose during pregnancy and breastfeeding? What are potentially harmful cosmetic ingredients?  Can you use an intimate lubricant during maternity?  So many questions and questions for you dear readers who deserve reflection.

Modern and sparkling mums, let's rethink your SELF LOVE routine together with a few precautions to take for a feminine motherhood... So that the women of today and tomorrow  can feel good about their bodies, for a smooth sexual recovery and the pleasure of sex they want, YESforLOV intimate cosmetics are by your side throughout your maternity. Follow us in our approach!

Hello mom, bobo: all about the use of cosmetics, lubricants and intimate toys during maternity

Are you pregnant or postpartum? Are you worried about the use of cosmetics for your health and that of your baby? Do not panic ! With YESforLOV and its complete range of cosmetics , lifestyle and intimate pleasure products of irreproachable quality, your health and that of your baby are constantly under control. However, you are perfectly right to ask yourself questions and to have doubts because pregnancy is a delicate, sometimes complicated period during which it is absolutely necessary that you be vigilant about everything you apply to your skin and your mucous membranes.

The scientific community has in fact recognized with great loyalty and discernment that a certain number harmful substances could obviously harm your child during pregnancy. The women, still so loving in this long period of motherhood made up of hope but also of very legitimate fears and anxieties, are doubly more sensitive, more vulnerable and it is therefore the health of their child that is at stake!

The baby is directly affected by everything you consume: food, alcohol, tobacco. Pollution is just as negative for your health as well as many other substances contained in cosmetics. Some cosmetics are totally irreproachable in their composition, others however are much less so and largely lead to suspicions and legitimate questions for future mothers.

Even today, too many cosmetics contain endocrine disruptors and therefore expose the unborn fetus to unacceptable risks for the health of the baby: this is particularly to be taken into consideration during the first weeks of pregnancy and up to the 3rd month. .

A lot of problems, visible to the naked eye, can unfortunately come to start and very seriously tarnish this great happiness of the birth of a newborn: a reduced cranial surface, a birth weight much too low, behavioral disorders , a congenital malformation… Other health problems can occasionally arise later in early childhood, such as symptoms and eventual risks of obesity, diabetes or infertility, with the devastating effects that are to be feared.

From the first days following fertilization, major upheavals come to disturb the future mother and in all these physical and psychological changes, there is a component that should not really be neglected. Your skin is attacked in its elasticity as in its texture.

It is true that throughout your motherhood, the skin often becomes more beautiful, but for the less fortunate among you, it can also be weakened in the face of attacks from the outside.

The skin of the young mother can be subject to irritations and allergies that are very unpleasant to live with, as a bonus, red patches and a hormonal acne outbreak that can trigger a lot of discomfort on a daily basis.

Your desire to change your sexuality therefore seems legitimate and perfectly understandable to us!

It's time to break this sacrosanct routine that all too often closes the door to your natural sensuality.

It's up to you ladies to innovate in this area and grant yourselves a new eroticism that smells good of sex in all its fantasies and fantasies. It's up to you to invent sensual and erotic rituals in your intimate relationships and to accept these changes in your body. It's up to you to take care of your body and your baby right to the end of your privacy.

To date, the international cosmetic regulations in force do not define specific measures for pregnant women. No scientific study has clearly and formally demonstrated a particular risk and endangerment of the use of cosmetics for pregnant women and their future children.

Our motto is clear: be careful and vigilant ladies, give yourself time to make the right choices in your purchases, take your precautions before deciding. It is your daily beauty as a pregnant woman that is at stake as closely as possible and it is up to you to give preference to beauty and care products that fully guarantee your safety and that of your child. As a precaution and in all logic of well-being, we recommend that pregnant women limit as much as possible exposure to all cosmetics.

We also advise our dear customers, the oldest as well as the most recent, to never hesitate to ask us about very specific questions relating to the use of our products during their pregnancy and to take the authorized opinion of their attending physician . , their gynecologist or their sexologist who will be able to guide them as effectively as possible when they are looking for well-targeted individual solutions. The hormonal system of the human being is complex and in pregnant women and weakens during the intrauterine period of the fetus.

You must therefore be extra vigilant when purchasing your cosmetics, and try to respect the following 7 precious and judicious advice as best as possible:

  • Opt for quality cosmetics made up of ingredients devoid of any added chemicals (parabens, phthalates, phenoxyethanol, mineral oils, etc.)
  • Choose short formulas based on ingredients of natural or organic origin.
  • Avoid cosmetics that contain allergen-based fragrance.
  • Avoid leave-on products that can be ingested by the child.
  • Avoid aerosols that can be absorbed by inhalation.
  • Use the products that seem essential to you in moderation, in a subtle way for unavoidable needs or in very special occasions.
  • As a precaution, avoid "hormone-like" essential oils and those containing ketones. Also avoid salicylic acid, aluminum salts and CBD in your cosmetics.
  • Reminder: There is no reason for the lady to stop taking care of herself, to make yourself beautiful, to enjoy the pleasures of your body with cosmetics and intimate lubricating gels. The vast majority of cosmetics used strictly as recommended turn out to be safe for your health and that of your baby.

Limit exposure to products that seem essential to you
is a very good thing, not using them is an unnecessary frustration!

Future mothers, you have understood that what is important for you is to choose healthy intimate products to use without excess, with caution and accuracy, in moderation and intelligently, in appropriate quantities.

Along the way, on your very special life path, you will experience exceptional quality moments, you will feel a new well-being full of fantasy: all this will very opportunely reward you for your true Sioux vigilance and your constant efforts!

The intimate lubricant, a turnkey solution to fight against vaginal dryness in the postpartum period:

In a 2018 study of 832 postpartum women, 43% of them said they suffered from vaginal dryness six months after giving birth.

This is not nothing: not far from one in two women!

Throughout the duration of pregnancy and breastfeeding, the body undergoes many profound changes and it is no secret to anyone.

Future moms or mothers of today, you may be more or less prone to vaginal or vulvar dryness during this long period of maternity.

Relatively common, this discomfort greatly harms your intimate balance and disrupts your sexuality, but there is nothing abnormal or serious in this purely physical phenomenon since your hormones are in full swing.

It is a natural upheaval in your body among others and which you must face sooner or later with great tenacity.

Vaginal lubrication is closely linked to the level of estrogen hormones subject to many variations during pregnancy, and this until the end of the breastfeeding period. The decrease or cessation of the production of this hormone can therefore cause intimate dryness that is not serious but particularly uncomfortable.

If you suffer from vaginal or vulvar dryness , we advise you to use a water-based intimate lubricant . It will really help you relieve your pain and discomfort.

We understand all the better the future mothers who may have apprehensions concerning the use of intimate cosmetics during pregnancy : there is however no fear to have on this subject.

The intimate lubricant has no effect on the health of either the child or the mother . As a precaution and precaution, we  advise you however to choose a totally lubricating intimate gel respectful of your privacy... and for once, it 's much more complicated and irreproachable quality cosmetic products are clearly becoming rarer on the market.

Within YESforLOV, we recommend with great conviction and strength natural intimate lubricant with organic seaweed or natural moisturizing intimate lubricant .

These two lubricants dedicated to intimate care have been tested on reconstituted mucous membranes under gynecological control. The totality of their manufacture is done in France from well-studied chemical formulas in the laboratory which exclude  automatically all sorts of controversial ingredients such as paraben, allergen, phenoxyethanol, mineral oil.

It is a given that our intimate gels offer the most demanding mums unparalleled, long-lasting lubrication without any sticky effect.

Sex toys during pregnancy and the postpartum period, some rules of use to know

During pregnancy :

Vibrating toys promoting stimulation of the vagina and the G-spot are not recommended, as are clitoral stimulators. It is preferable indeed not to put too much strain on the cervix during this entire period and to avoid vibrations and ultrasounds, the effects of which on the fetus are not well known.

Some manufacturers want to be less alarmist about vibrating sex toys, but all agree that rotating vibrators like Rabbit sex toys are too dangerous because they exert significant pressure on the uterus.

On the other hand, non-vibrating sex toys such as Geisha balls and the dildo are not contraindicated unless a health professional prohibits it for medical reasons which belong to him and which you will accept in full knowledge of the facts.

After childbirth :

Professionals most often recommend waiting for the lochia to end: be patient! You will make up for lost time later. Among young mothers, pelvic rehabilitation does not necessarily arouse enthusiasm. However, in this delicate period, we recommend the use of geisha balls which help to repair the pelvic floor after childbirth. A little exercise in this postpartum period will do no harm to young mothers anxious to regain control of their perineum and regain normal sexuality.

For all those who have never used sex toys , let's say with amusement and a certain malice that all these pleasure toys ladies are wonderful tools that allow you to reconnect with your own sexuality, free your desires, give real meaning and a whole new dimension to your own sexuality as well as that of your partner. Intimate toys make you forget without making a sound in this inevitable but future-rich letting go of all those little physical and psychological miseries that are very difficult to live with and that pollute your privacy!

It's up to you and your partner to lovingly accept this new body, a post-pregnancy body that has seen “green and unripe” ones for months. A new body that starts again with renewed vigor in new love adventures!

What are the cosmetic ingredients to avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

In the spotlight, a non-exhaustive list of cosmetic ingredients to exclude. On a daily basis in your life as a future mother, the choice of ingredients used in the composition of your cosmetics deserves special attention.

Cosmetics used in moderation are our  leitmotif , our pilot in love and an enlightened guide to follow to follow the most beautiful erotic dreams, devastating desires and wildest fantasies.

Moderation is our only watchword and we hope that it will also be yours in your life as a couple.

No study points the finger at any danger of the use of cosmetics during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

In this happy Curian approach of holistic, minimalist, rural beauty and in this ever-renewed search to fully experience intimate pleasures that are totally healthy and truly safe for the health of mother and baby, the time has come to discover together the main ingredients to avoid in your lubricants and intimate care products.

Endocrine disruptors: let's take stock of these risky substances

If we refer to the definitions of the WHO ( World Health Organization), endocrine disruptors are chemical substances present in a large number of cosmetic lubricants for intimate hygiene.

Daily and long-term exposure to your skin or mucous membranes would be likely to disturb the  endocrine system. There are several categories of endocrine disruptors.

  1. Parabens are designated by means of different suffixes such as prothyl-paraben, propyl-paraben, butyl-paraben or hidden involuntarily under a code name E216 for example. All YESforLOV products are paraben-free except for the body pencil and the delicious iridescent powder. No need to panic, whether you are pregnant or not. It is important to remember that it is the recurrent exposure of the product on the skin that creates a real danger. Same observation with regard to the effective rate of concentration of the product. Our delicate and beautiful iridescent powder and cherry body pencil are intended for recreational use. YESforLOV iridescent body powder contains only 0.30% paraben and our pencil only 0.26% paraben. These two products in direct contact with the skin are likely to be ingested by the newborn and are obviously not recommended during breastfeeding.

For pregnant women, our iridescent powder will embellish and perfume your magnificent décolleté. As for our cherry pencil, it will allow you to draw on your pretty belly all your fantasies and desires of the moment but also your fears and anxieties to better exorcise them.
  2. Phthalates are very present in plastics and are used in the manufacture of sex toys. They are considered dangerous because they can trigger damaging damage in your man's sexuality and negatively influence precocious puberty in women. These products are known to be toxic to reproduction. All of the sex toys offered by YESforLOV and its pleasure cosmetics are made without phthalates!
  3. Phenoxyethanol: To date, phenoxyethanol is not officially classified as an endocrine disruptor but it is strongly recommended to avoid it in your pregnancy cream as well as in baby products. In addition to being allergenic, it would present carcinogenic risks, infertility for men and toxicity for the fetus (harmful for the blood and the liver of the baby!). The ANSM recommends a dosage of 0.4% in cosmetic products intended for children under 3 years old. The maximum concentration of phenoxyethanol could remain at 1% in adults. At YESforLOV, only 3 products contain phenoxyethanol: the peach apricot gourmet lubricant (0.88%) , the pineapple green tea gourmet lubricant (0.89%) and the intimate mist with an intoxicating scent (0.94%) .
  4. And the others ? We could mention triclosan which interferes with estrogen, but also BHA, BHT, benzophenone, 4-methylbenzylidene camphor, butylphenyl methylpropional and so on… At YESforLOV, all these ingredients are banned, except for BHT present in many scented solutions but in really minimal proportions. The products containing BHT are: maddening massage oil (0.04%) , the Réjouissance Femme perfume and the Réjouissance Homme perfume. The professionals of our formulas are unanimous: there is no doubt that our products are irreproachable and healthy for your skin. No fear on the legal level, no complaint to consider on the legal level.

Make yourself beautiful during pregnancy, radiate around you, smell super good with our Rejoicing perfume and to really let go, have yourself gently and tenderly massaged with maddening massage oil.

YESforLOV cosmetics are safe and harmless to the health of the mother and her child!

Allergens: if you can skip it, so much the better!

If our cosmetics 100% French are so special, it's because of their unique scent. The perfume is present in many cosmetics and it is an important criterion in the purchase of a massage oil or a care or beauty product.

However, what says "perfume" very often says "allergen" because these molecules are naturally present and form the very basis of all these olfactory signatures.

There are currently a large number of allergens: there are more than 82 allergenic substances present in perfume-based solutions. Allergens are known to be potentially sensitizing and can cause allergic reactions in people who are too sensitive to them.

To date, the dosage is limited and varies according to the type of product and 26 of these substances are recognized as allergenic. Under multiple denominations, whether Citronellol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Farnesol or even Geraniol, allergens during pregnancy and breastfeeding is a cautious No for pregnant women and a categorical NO for breastfeeding or non-breastfeeding women, but at the direct contact with the baby. These so-called allergens are likely to be ingested involuntarily by the baby during breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact with his mother.

All YESforLOV products containing Perfume/Fragrance contain parabens except our intoxicating massage candle and our intimate vulva serum. You have therefore understood it, for women who are breastfeeding, we advise you to avoid all scented creams, body perfumes and scented massage oils, which could prove to be at risk in the event of oral contact with the baby. .

Mineral oils, compatible or incompatible with pregnant or breastfeeding women?

At YESforLOV, we categorically refuse the use of mineral oils derived from petrochemicals and, as far as possible, the use of petroleum-derived ingredients in the formulation of our intimate cosmetics and lubricants.

We favor those that nature has the beauty and kindness to offer us! On the other hand, under normal conditions of use, it is quite possible to use mineral oils such as petroleum jelly during your pregnancy.
In case of breastfeeding, it is not because it is not recommended to apply it on the breasts.

Mineral oils are very polluting and are, like silicones, non-biodegradable! They really have no interest in traditional cosmetics. In our modern world which mixes eroticism, romanticism, our sexuality and our sensuality are boundless: it is true that petroleum jelly has great moisturizing and lubricating power. It avoids drying out, softens the intimate mucous membranes and can be used as an intimate lubricant for sex in the hydration of the intimate mucous membranes in the event of vaginal dryness or anal intercourse.

On the other hand, it is important not to use petroleum jelly on a condom because the latter is a fatty substance which in this case becomes too porous to remain impermeable to microbes and fulfill its role as a protective barrier against unwelcome spermatozoa!

Essential oils during maternity: we talk about it because it relieves! Nope ?

Even if essential oils are intended to be natural and extremely effective in countering many inconveniences, essential oils can prove to be dangerous during certain periods of life, and in particular during pregnancy. Admittedly, the risk is purely theoretical and it is an excess of precaution, however the majority of neurotoxic essential oils are strictly prohibited during the first three months of pregnancy. The reason is very simple: they potentially risk passing into the body through the placenta and therefore represent a certain danger for the developing fetus.

Same caution to observe if you have decided to breastfeed your baby because essential oils pass into breast milk. All essential oils that contain ketones are prohibited for pregnant women. In addition, essential oils have also an influence on the hormonal system (called hormone-like). You got it, YESforLOV said bluntly  NO to essential oils for the first three months! Beyond the 4th month of pregnancy, it is much more flexible and you can use a limited number of these essential oils such as chamomile, ginger, lavender in minimal amounts and for topical use only.

Some of them will remain totally prohibited throughout pregnancy: peppermint or sage, which are however found in our orgasmic gels. In the end, a good thirty essential oils are authorized to accompany the future mother in her maternity.

These essential oils do not contain enough sensitive molecules to be considered at risk, so why deprive yourself of it ? Isn't the real freedom in a couple's life to decide together in full knowledge of the facts and with all the information available?

CBD, an effective remedy that deserves clear and precise answers on its use

Wouldn't CBD be a formidable friendly weapon in intimate lifestyle care and a precious and discreet ally?  for a happy motherhood? Cannabidiol and our CBD concentrate seem beneficial for relieving nausea, heavy legs, headaches and pain related to uterine contractions.

Can CBD be used safely during pregnancy?

Very good question but to date there is no answer to the height of the stakes. No luminary wants to  to pronounce to date, not having enough hindsight to decide on the spot.

Scientific research is too thin on this public health problem and even if, a priori,  we personally do not see any major contraindication to pregnant women using it , we do not have the necessary scientific hindsight to give formal proof of this.

Competence in this matter remains in the domain of scientists and doctors.

Our best advice is therefore to respect the recommendations of the FDA, which published a warning last October advising against the consumption of products containing Cannabidiol (CBD) by pregnant or breastfeeding women. This warning applies especially to women who are pregnant.

To be more complete, let us remember that a minority of women affected by this CBD problem clearly confirm that they have consumed Cannabidiol and have not felt any negative effects on their health, that of their child or their future child. It would perhaps be more prudent not to rely too much on these specific statements in order to avoid possible delayed perinatal effects that are particularly undesirable!
